Who We Are

We are a Non-Government Organization started in 2016 by Mandela Salim Buluma. We’re raising funds to stop the children from suffering, hunger, sorrowfulness, and sadness. We provide a loving family, help children attain education, basic needs, and attain important skills in life.

In the year 2016, God in Action Uganda was launched with only 25 children and by 2020, the numbers grew to 101 children containing one disabled child called Nickolas.

In the 2018, God in Action started to support the community elderly with a number of only 4 elder ages 75 and above and currently we have 24 elders that we support, join us today to support the elderly as well.

Our mission is to raise funds to stop the children from suffering, hunger, sorrowfulness and sadness. We provide a loving family, help children attain education, basic needs and attain important skills in life.

At GOD IN ACTION UGANDA we’re raising funds and promoting initiatives to serve the people who need them most. We believe in taking action with urgency in order to raise public awareness about some of the most pressing issues facing today’s society. ABOUT MANDELA

My name is Mandela Salim Buluma from the of the village of Bulidha in the Distict of Bugiri in Uganda. My father was a local farmer and used to grow all the food for our family. He would always grow enough to give away to the local orphans and street children.

Over time the numbers grew and soon we found ourselves with many more mouths to feed than we had food. He gave me a good education and I believe it was God’s work to help me support my father. I made it my challenge to get noticed on Instagram to gain support for the 101 children we now look after. I have a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.

My vision is to set up a community of people full of skills and able to train each other in different skills. To achieve this, it’s the main reason I use my voice and pass my skill of farming to all the children.

WAFULA FAHADI

Born of Bugiri District and a believer of The Most High. I am a University graduate. I always have had a keen interest in children and also the elderly (Jajja project). I believe they are the main reasons why history exists as they pass on Information to a young generation that will pass it on as well whenever given a chance.

My hobbies are learning, researching, entertainment, and dancing. I use my dances to fight trauma in all children in the children’s home and that’s why the children call me KING, I cause a vibration in them with energy and I bring out all the hidden joy through dances and singing.

DR. MENYA EDGAR MAURICE

I was born of Iganga district to a well-known Christian family. I am a graduate of Clinical Medicine and Community Health. I love monitoring the health of everyone close to me and it’s one of my biggest inspirations to be part of the big family of God In Action.

I believe in the future and I would love to see some children in the children’s home become doctors that way, they will have a good form of employment that will help them feed their families in the future. I love being part of a developing economy and seeing the children grow is a great thing. Let's fight trauma in children.

MUHAIRE KEREN

Born of Bugiri District, I am a Christian and God fearing person raised in a Christian family. I graduated from university with a Bachelors degree of Tourism and travel management. My hobbies are travelling, baking, reading litrature and volunteering. I enjoy making sure that the girls at children’s home feel safe, confident and they can talk at any given time.

What inspires me to be with the children is my love for growth, to see these young stars fully exploit their potential and become what they dreamt of. I expect the children to become influential people and cause an impact in the lives of others in their immediate community, far and wide. This is the reason I mainly handle welfare of children especially the girl children.

NABASSA ANTHONY BLAIR

I work with the God in Action Uganda as a humanitarian and a content creator, specifically focusing on the welfare of children. With a passion for making a difference in the lives of young ones, I am determined to provide them with the necessary support and care they deserve. I have relevant experience in the field of child development and handling social media content, engaging children, and offering them relevant skills.

I find joy in spending time with the children and engaging in activities that bring them happiness and growth. This could include organizing educational programs, playing games, organizing outings, or encouraging their creative expression through art, music, or sports. What inspires me to work with children could vary. It may stem from a desire to witness their overall well-being, development, and growth. Additionally, seeing the potential in every child and wanting to be a part of their journey toward realizing that potential may also serve as a strong motivational factor.

NERIMA ESTHER

Born of Bugiri District, I am a Christian(Protestant) and God-fearing person. I never got a chance to graduate in school though my dream was always to be a teacher. I love being with the children because they are very special kinds to me as am also a mother to two sons.

I love staying with children because I tell them about life through stories and I believe I’m achieving my dream of being a teacher. At times I also teach children a few skills like tailoring and making tablecloths and I love seeing them transform. Doing what I do comes with love, and passion and I believe that someday, the children we look out for today could also look out for us in the near future.

BWIRE SHAFEN BULUMA

My name is BWIRE SHAFEN BULUMA, am a Christian by religion. I graduated with a Degree in Record keeping and Information Management. My hobbies are teaching and afforestation. I love encouraging everyone to at least plant a tree every month and I believe it’s the best way to preserve Mother Nature.

I love staying with the children because of the mood they always portray when they love you, and I love making them happy. My biggest dream is to fight the trauma they have and encourage them to love one another.

MUYODI NARSWIF

I am born of Nankoma village. I love being with children because I love promoting children’s rights and also fighting child abuse. I love seeing children treat each other in good behavior and manner.

As a humanitarian, I believe in encouraging children to use their stories to raise again and inspire others like we are doing. A story told is a life changed or saved. That’s what I always tell them to do. I would love to see most of them skilled and able to support us too when we become elderly.

PR. WANYAMA ALEX

I am a pastor by profession. I am born of Busia district and a citizen of Uganda. I am a father of 6 children and I love doing the work of God through uplifting all those around me. My hobbies are teaching, farming, and preaching.

I was raised from a well-known family in my community and I believe all children are ours no matter how different their ages and tribes are. I love being part of something big and seeing how the children are raised is one great opportunity that I have to take part of. As a leader, I love being exemplary and that’s why through teaching the people the bible, I feel I’m impacting a life.

KIGOMO NASSA

I am born of Mayuge District. I am a father to one child. I am a builder by profession. I have been building for more than five years as it’s my form of employment. I love being with the children because they accept how they are living today and they treat one another as family.

The role I play in the children’s home is store management. I love being with children because love to ensure that they are not mistreated and to make sure they are fed well and treated fairly. I picture myself passing on a skill of building to some of the children because having a skill is one thing we all wish to own in life.

GALONDA JOSEPH

I am born of Iwemba Village in Bugiri district. I am a very free person in nature and a father to three children. I love spending some time with the children because they give me peace of mind. They remind me of where I came from. I struggled in life to survive and it all happened when a friend of mine taught me the skill of riding a motorcycle. I have survived out of this skill as it has fed me and it’s educating my children. I hope to achieve even bigger things out of cycling.

I love being with the children because seeing their journey of them being groomed and raised with a skill makes me wish I had grown up with a skill from childhood. When it comes to the children, I’m always one call away and in case of any emergencies like a sick child, I’m always there to rush them to the hospital. The children call me biker because it’s what I love and am the one who does deliveries to the children’s home.

MWESIGWA ELIJAH

I’m a born of Pallisa and I’m a Christian by religion. I graduated with honors of bachelor’s in business administration and my hobbies are playing with the kids and exposing them to the digital world of how to use the computer, especially the basics of the computer. I love being with the children, and to me, it’s like preparing them for a better future.

Children always live in truth and they help us to also live in truth every day as they speak the truth. I believe in children having a skill for survival. The future needs bright stars and they are in this generation of children.

MUHAMMED ABDALLAH

I am born of Bugiri district and married with one child. I graduated with a diploma in Electrical Engineering. One of the reasons why am an engineer is because I used to fear darkness when I was still young. I could not do anything whenever the power goes off. So, I don’t want other children to be like I used to be by being all around in case anything happens concerning power. My hobbies are football, athletics, and storytelling. When am with the children, it gives me peace of mind that makes me forget my sad moments. It makes me feel some energy that makes me miss the life of being a child before.

At times the sound made by children, makes me feel like I’m listening to music. I expect children to have big responsibilities in the community, country, or even the world as a whole in a few years to come. That’s why I want to take and be part of their visionary life.

BIRUNGI MAUREEN

My name is Birungi Maureen, a born of Bugiri District. I am a registered comprehensive Nurse by qualification. My hobbies are telling stories to children as am also a parent. I like interacting with the children in order to explore their challenges and interests too. I never want a child to feel low about their situation.

I expect the children to be God-fearing and also to pass the skills they will learn to other people. I have bigger expectations from them because of how they are being groomed at their children’s homes. My hope in the future is to see children learning a lot of skills thereby fighting laziness in the community.

MAGOBA ANNET

My name is MAGOBA ANNET, am born again Christian and a mother to 3 children, currently staying with all of them as a single mother. I have struggled to raise my children on my own. My hobbies are teaching children basic housework as am a mother too and it’s a parents’ joy to see their children help with some work at home.

I love cooking for the children all the time to ensure they are fed. I would love to see all girl children learning how to do the house work hence preparing them for the future and also the boys children being good planners as they will always be heads and expected to be leaders in homes.

MUGENI ELEAZER

I am a Christian by Tribe. Am still a student but happy to always volunteer and serve in my community for as long as it's a great and positive cause. Am so fond of the children, I can only imagine if it were me in their situation, would I even manage.

I love farming as I dedicate my time on the farm to the community people. My hobbies are music and farming as am always passionate about what we can feed on the next day. My dream is the be an electrical engineer and hope one day to pass the same skills to the children so they can also have a better future.
